Club Matches

As a competitive club with a great history we are always keen to pit our skills against the best. The West Sussex Bowls League (WSBL) formerly the Littlehampton Gazette League (LGL) provides us with with that challenge across West Sussex. We enter one team into the league and currently play in Division 1 of three. In 2022 the WSBL has a total of 24 teams representing 20 clubs on its books, offering our 'A' team 14 games a season. We are also proud to enter a team into the Stracey Shield which offers our club a further 12 matches. From the 2022 season we will also have a team in the Brodie Tray. Navigating the drop down menu in this section of our site will take you to pages specifically devoted to competitive league fixtures and information. The league teams each have their own manager who is responsible for team selection.

Priory enter a variety of cup competitions. In 2023 we will compete in the WSBL League Cup - 'the PC Cup'. The PC cup is sponsored by one of our ex-members, Peter Chiffins.

We also enter Sussex County Bowling (SCB) Competitions. The team event in the SCB is the Abergavenny which is a double fours event played over the course of the season.

Bowls England  provide the Top Club (Men). This  team event tests teams in all bowls disciplines; 2 wood Singles, 4 wood Singles, 4 wood Pairs, Triples and Rinks. The early rounds are regionalised, and the top club go on to play against other regions in the later rounds. BE also stage the 2 Fours competitions which we enter each year and this year we enter an 'A' and a 'B' side into this popular competition.

Priory players are encouraged to develop their bowling skills by taking part in friendly fixtures against local and touring clubs. We have a range of fixtures throughout the season and offer something for everyone.

By using the drop down menus you will also find your way to our internal team games. We have a regular Monday Evening Triples League, which is played throughout the season. There are also opportunities to get players of different skill levels together as teammates in our two handicap KO tournaments - the KO fours and the KO 2 wood Triples.

There really is something for everyone!
