RIP Emilio DiPietro

Sadly, we report the passing of Emilio Dipietro, another one of the great characters of our Club.
Emilio – Tarring Priory’s Italian Stallion – first joined the club in 1997. He was a most kind and helpful man and turned his hand to any task which would benefit the club. He had a real desire to help with bringing younger players through the club, going back maybe to his football days with the Azzurri - a Worthing based Italian team.
He was given a life membership of our club to mark his tremendous contributions over the years, probably his time as bar manager was most memorable in the latter part of his career.
His bowling career was dominated by several high points – Emilio was our club Champion in 2012 and even more significantly was one of the members of the Sussex County Bowling Association Fours Winner in 2007
He appeared on our honours board 19 times in his 28 years with the club and was still winning singles titles in 2022. Often, he would play as a lead in our higher-level teams and will always be remembered for his contributions to directing the play in rinks matches. The only people not aware of these helpful hints were the number 3s he was contradicting!!
With the loss of Emilio, Tarring Priory has lost a true stalwart of the club, whose like will not readily come along again.
We will miss you so so much – RIP Emilio.
Emilio's funeral service will be held at -
St Marys of the Angels Church on Crescent Rd Worthing
on the 28th August at 12.00
A burial service attended by the family only
will be held immediately afterwards
Emilio's wake will be held at Worthing IBC
